4G MOBILE NETWORKS
Description
A 3-day Training Program to provide participants with an introduction to Fourth Generation (4G) mobile networks. The program will explore the network evolution to 4G as well as its main technologies and access methods. The program will also look at the current marketplace situation, its main players, such as manufacturers, vendors, operators and standards bodies, and the expectations and trends leading to 4G mobile networks.
Prerequisite
A general knowledge of telecom technologies, especially mobile.
Objectives
- Provide a historical review of the evolution of mobile networks
- Present the technologies currently available in the marketplace
- Explain the 4G vision and its expected services
- Present pre-4G technologies such as WiMAX (802.16e), HSPA+ and E-UTRA
- Describe the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and 3GPP2 projects, who set standards for both 3G and 4G technologies
- Explore the main technologies expected to be used in 4G mobile networks such as WiMAX (802.16m) and LTE Advanced
- Present the main players (manufacturers, vendors, operators and standards bodies) in the 4G international marketplace as well as the planned 4G-based products, services and technologies
